I am a qualified proofreader (Publishing Training Centre) and trained editor of 20 years. I can supply feature copy on a range of subjects from arts and culture to sports.
I began my career at the Hull Daily Mail in 2000 after graduating from the University of Hull with a BA (Hons) First Class in English, and an MA in film and literature. I trained to be a sub-editor (I was among the first to earn the NVQ Level 4 in Production Journalism) and later joined the Press Association in Howden, with roles including senior Teletext staff, TV listings management and working on PA’s main news wire. I continue to work for what is now known as PA Media, sub-editing supplements pages for the national Daily Telegraph.
I have been writing features for many years for various print and online publications on a variety of subjects, from arts and culture to sports. I am the contributing editor of BusinessWorks magazine and managing editor of H&E naturist. Please get in touch if you’d like me to do any writing for you. Below is just a small sample of recent work.
Past publications I’ve written for include Hull City’s matchday programme, the Hull Daily Mail, the Guardian, Sports Coach UK’s Coaching Edge magazine and the Coach’s Book 1 and 2 and Browse Magazine.
